Raymond M. Pierson, caring father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2022, at the age of 82 in Tucker, Georgia.
Ray was born to Robert and Marie Pierson on November 21, 1940, in Rosland, NJ. After he graduated from high school, Ray married Virginia Countey in May of 1964, and settled in Wayne, NJ. There, Ray started a family as well as his own company, Pierson Air Conditioning. In time, he would own several rental properties as well as go into the restaurant business by owning Buxton’s Family Restaurant.
Though he was proud of his business accomplishments, nothing made Ray prouder than raising his four boys, Raymond, Bart, Matt, and Ted, on his own after the passing of his wife in 1978. Over the years, Ray was his sons’ coach for various sports, their Cub Scout Leader, and their biggest fan. His sons were the most important things in his life, and he never forgot to remind them of it.
Later in his life he pursued his love of golf and moved to Georgia, owning a home on a golf course with his beloved dogs, Scruffy I and Scruffy II. For his final years, Ray was a resident of Atria Senior Living, whose staff showed him the utmost kindness.
Ray is survived by his sons, Ray Pierson Jr., his wife Ying Ling, and their two daughters Mei and Holly Ann; Bart Pierson, his wife Doreen, and their two sons, Sam and Robert; Matt Pierson, his wife Lisa, and their kids, Virginia, Mary Matt, and Ford, and his Son Ted and his fiance Ashley.
Ray was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Pierson and their baby Joseph, his twin Ellen Pierson, and his sisters Rosemary Blaney, and Georgia Ottiwell, and his brothers Robert Pierson and Donald Ogden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
