He was a member and former elder of the Pequannock Reformed Church in Wayne.

Raymond served in the United States Coast Guard as well as in the United States Navy as a Fireman Second Class aboard the USS Utah. from 1920 to 1923.

He was a Wayne Boy Scout Troop leader for many years.

Raymond and Catherine Van Noordt had fifty-six years of “loving and devoted” marriage together until Catherine’s passing in December 1981.

Surviving are one daughter Marie Davies and her husband John “Bud” of Arlington, Vermont, two sons Raymond Van Noordt and his wife Joan of Caswell Beach, NC and Irving Van Noordt and his wife Joan of Oak Ridge; nine grandchildren Jim, Peter, Jennifer, Todd, Brett, Ross, Glenn, Scott and Jill; seven great grandchildren Ryan, Rachel, Taylor, Caleb, Michael, Wesley and Austin.
