Services
Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
Robert William Taylor age 82 of Wayne died Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Lincoln Park Renaissance, Lincoln Park.
He was born in Clifton and lived in Paterson before moving to Wayne fifty years ago.
Mr. Taylor was a US Navy Veteran of WWII having served as a Pharmacists Mate 3rd Class. For much of his service he was stationed aboard the USS Canberra a Baltimore Class Heavy Cruiser.
Mr. Taylor was a bus driver for DeCamp Bus Lines, Montclair for thirty-five years before retiring in 1987.
His children fondly remember family picnics, his proficiency at playing Pinochle, dad’s love of horseracing, and his fondness of reading the racing form and visiting “Uncle George” to place his bets.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Hayek) Taylor; loving father of the late Robert Taylor(1977), Thomas Taylor and his wife Janice of Lincoln Park, Kenneth Taylor of Wayne and William Taylor and his wife Lauren of Wayne; cherished grandfather of Stephanie Westerberg and her husband Robert, Alex, Laura, TJ, Jaclyn, Ava Elizabeth Taylor and much loved great-grandfather of Robert Tyler Westerberg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimers Association-Greater NJ, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834 would be appreciated.
