Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, September 30, 2006 from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church, Wayne where at 10:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Salvatore LaMonica age 79 of Wayne died Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains.
He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY having moved to Wayne thirty-one years ago.
Before retiring he was a presser in the New York garment district for over twenty years.
Salvatore was a parishioner of Holy Cross RC Church, Wayne and was formerly a member of the Knights of Columbus in Florida.
He was an avid NY Giants fan, NY Mets fan and enjoyed playing cards. Sal was a family man who enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a person whom everyone loved.
Beloved husband of forty years to the late Vivian (nee Curley) LaMonica(1995); loving father of the late JoAnne Stack(2005), Julia Slater and her husband Charles of Milford, PA and Salvatore Raymond LaMonica and his wife Irene of Tobyhanna, PA; loved brother of Mary Basso of Staten Island and the late Virginia Giordano, the late Nellie DeCastanza and the late Phillip LaMonica; cherished grandfather of Michael McKeon, Salvatore LaPlaca, Raymond and Juliet Slater and Salvatore and Mario LaMonica.
