Services
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 19, 2007 from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM on Monday, August 20, 2007 from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Our Lady of the Valley RC Church, Wayne where at 10:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Interment will be Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
Sebastian "Charles" Scelba age 88 of Wayne died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the Saint Josephs Hospital, Paterson his family by his side.
He was born in Clifton and lived in Passaic Park before moving to Wayne forty-seven years ago.
He graduated from Passaic High School with the class of 1937 and attended Fordham University, Bronx, NY.
Mr. Scelba owned S-B Engineering Co., a manufacturing firm in Clifton for forty-three years before retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Lyndhurst Elks Lodge and the Lyndhurst AARP for many years.
Charlie's joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family for always putting their needs before his own.
Beloved husband of sixty-three years to Elsie Scelba(nee Mustardo); loving father of Janet and her husband Paul Cooke of Wayne, Patricia Speidel and her husband Robert of Lake Ariel, PA, Charles Scelba and his wife Angela of Totowa; cherished grandfather of Dr. Paul Cooke and his wife Jennifer of Cranbury, Linda Wright and her husband David of North Haledon, Lauren Cooke of Belleville, Robert Speidel and his wife Kelly of Tappahannock, VA, Stephen Speidel of Vernon, Anthony Scelba and his wife Lynn of Wayne and Ariana Adamo and her husband Thomas of Wayne; beloved great-grandfather of Paul, Grace and Erin Cooke, Dominic and Damian Scelba, Stephen and Sean Speidel, R.J., Kainen and Garrison Speidel; brother of Nancy Kimble of Wayne.
In Lieu of Flowers memorial donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-2729 would be appreciated.
