Thomas R. Doyle age 83 of Wayne died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at the Atrium Health Care Center in Wayne. His passing was quiet and peaceful while receiving the loving care of his wife.
He was born in Newark and had lived in Lodi, Passaic and Clifton before moving to Wayne forty-eight years ago.
He received his formal education at Seton Hall University in South Orange graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
He served in the Army during World War II as a Cannoneer Gun Crewman. He saw action in Ardennes, Central Europe and Rhineland. He participated and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He received the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Tom was employed as an Accountant at Singer-Kearfott Corporation in Wayne for twenty years before his retirement in 1986.
His hobbies included golfing at the Passaic County Golf Course in Wayne and league bowling at Yogi Berra’s Lanes in Clifton.
Surviving is his loving wife of fifty-three years Dorothy (Van Hook) Doyle; one daughter Doreen Doyle of Clifton; one grandson Nolan Doyle of Oak Ridge; one sister Patricia Featherston and her husband Roger of Los Angeles, California.
His only son Brian Doyle predeceased him in 2003.
