Services
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 18, 2006 at 9:30 AM from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Holy Spirit RC Church, Pequannock, where at 10:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Interment will be in the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains.
Vincent J. Spoto age 72 of Pequannock died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains.
He was born in Garfield and had lived in Garfield and Clifton before moving to Pequannock forty years ago.
Mr. Spoto was a construction worker for forty-four years before his retirement in 1996.
He was a parishioner of the Holy Spirit RC Church in Pequannock where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Prayer Group Leader.
He served as a Little League coach in Pequannock for ten years.
His family will always hold fond memories of his dedication and love for his wife and children. He was a loyal friend to many. The memory of those special Father’s Day barbeques, his cooking for family and friends and his gift of a wonderful sense of humor will be held in a special place in everyone’s heart.
Vincent and Marion Spoto had fifty-one years of “dedicated and loving” marriage together.
Surviving are his loving wife Marion (nee Lukas); one daughter Janine Spoto of Piscataway, two sons Vincent Spoto of the Highland Lakes section of Vernon, Michael Spoto of Pequannock; two sisters Sylvia Saccomondo of Garfield and Jeanette DeLillo of Butler.
He was predeceased by three brothers Russell Spoto in 1999, Joseph Spoto in 2002 and Salvatore Spoto in 2005.
