Friends may visit with the family at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne, on Friday, Dec 8, 2017 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, Dec 10, 2017 from the funeral home, then to Holy Cross RC Church, 17 Van Duyne Ave, Wayne, where at 10:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery Mausoleum in Lodi.
Vincenza “Nancy” Macaluso (nee Longo), age 94 of Wayne, NJ passed away on December 6, 2017. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Gandolfo Macaluso (1995). Nancy was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY by the late Philip and Filomena Longo. Since moving to Wayne in 1965, she was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and resided in the same house for 52 years.
Nancy was exceedingly dedicated to her family and passionately raised three children. That dedication certainly extended to spending time with and taking care of her four grandchildren. Undeniably, Nancy's life was all about family. She believed that God's most incredible gift is family, and she demonstrated that sentiment by example. Her strength of character and values taught her family lessons that will surely be passed down to multiple generations. Despite struggling with numerous health issues in her last years with us, she persevered and remained strong. Nancy faced every endeavor with a positive attitude, grace, and incomparable strength that truly inspired all who knew her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Gandolfo, sisters Gloria Longo and Carmella Defeo, son-in-law Joseph Halloran, and grandson Joseph. Left to cherish her memory include her children Joseph of Wall, NJ, Joanne Wiener of Union, NJ, and Phyllis Halloran of Lincoln Park, NJ, and four adoring grandchildren Joseph, Samantha, Victoria-Lyn and Vincent.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory would be appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
