Funeral services will be held 1 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 12 Noon to 1 PM at the funeral home.
William George Stumpf age 86 of Totowa died Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pompton Plains.
He was born in West New York and lived in Passaic before moving to Totowa forty-six years ago.
Mr. Stumpf was a warehouse foreman for the Kessler Plumbing and Heating Supply, Paterson for fifteen years before his retirement.
He was a US Air Force veteran of WWII having served with the 237th Army Air Force Base Unit as a power turret and gun-sight mechanic as well as an airplane and engine mechanic. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant having received the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
William was a member of Saint Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wayne.
His family and friends will remember him as an avid reader, a great carpenter/woodworker, having a love for gardening and for his collection of pigs.
Beloved husband of sixty-two years to Irene (nee Ruppert) Stumpf; loving father of Marjorie Ann Denison of OH, Irene E.. Slobodin and husband Robert of NJ, Joann L. Mileham and husband John of Woodcliff Lake, William George Stumpf, Jr. and wife Stephanie of AZ, and the late Diane Irene Stumpf(1960); loved brother of the late Clara Klee; cherished grandfather of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-2729 would be appreciated.
