Services
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 9:30 AM from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Annunciation RC Church, Wayne where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
William Sisti age 81 of Wayne died Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Wayne. His passing was quite and peaceful after a long struggle with his health.
He was born in Paterson and had lived his formative years in Paterson before moving to Wayne forty-eight years ago.
Bill received his formal education at Paterson Eastside High School graduating with the Class of 1943. He then joined the Navy and served during World War II. He then went to Rutgers University in New Brunswick where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Sisti was a Grocery Buyer for Grand Union, Pantry Pride and Food Fair spanning a career of forty-nine years before his retirement in 1992.
Bill was very active in and dedicated to his Catholic faith and held many positions and offices to further his church life. He was a member, past president and treasurer of the Paterson Dux club, a founding parishioner of Annunciation RC Church in Wayne having served as a member and Past President of the Annunciation Men’s Council, member Past President and Treasurer of the Annunciation Prime Timers, a Church Trustee, active member in the Divine Mercy Mass Activities, Member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 1250, Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11923. He was also a member of the Annunciation Pastoral council choir, active Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Greeter and a daily communicant at Annunciation Church.
He leaves his family and many friends and fellow parishioners with wonderful memories of a true gentlemen. Bill was very sociable and extended his personality in a very warm and caring manor. One of his finest personality traits was his selfless attributes that put other’s needs ahead of his own and caused him to reach out to others in their time of need.
Bill and Victoria had fifty-three years of “wonderful loving” marriage together. His family will always cherish his memory as a wonderful and nurturing father and grandfather.
Surviving are his loving wife Victoria (nee Guarini) Sisti; one son William Sisti and his wife Elisa of Oakland; one daughter Mary Jo D’Alessio and her husband Raymond of Cypress, Texas; three brothers Armand Sisti and his wife Rose Marie of North Caldwell, Robert Sisti of Wayne and Frank Sisti and his wife Flora of Randolph; cherished grandfather of William John and Damara Sisti of Oakland and Raymond D’Alessio III of Cypress, Texas and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Sisti; his sister Josephine Chakaris died earlier and his sister in law Mary Sisti in 2000.
