Services
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Saint Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 802 Rifle Camp Road, West Paterson, NJ 07424.
She will be laid to rest with her late husband Albert at the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
Yoland Shalhoub age 79 (Mouracade) of Bayonne on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Her loving sons were constantly at her bedside and felt peace knowing that Mom has now moved into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
She was born in Beirut, Lebanon and came to this country at age two with her family.
The family first settled in Bay Bridge, Brooklyn. After her marriage to her late husband Albert Shalhoub, she moved to Bayonne, New Jersey where she lived the rest of her life.
Yoland was member of Saint Ann Melkite Catholic Church in West Paterson.
She had a very special devotion to her faith which she passed down to her children and grandchildren.
Her life dedication was to her family. She was a very warm and giving person that was selfless. She was generous and kind by nature and loved to help people. She was a woman of grace, beauty and wisdom.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and talented cook who joyfully served.
Thanks Mom for being so special in our lives.
Surviving are two sons Robert J. Shalhoub and his wife Tania of Chatham and Ronald A. Shalhoub and his wife Samira of Madison; six grandchildren Christopher, Peter, Andrew, James, Renee and Colette Shalhoub; and six brothers Simon, Robert, John, Michael, and Alex.
Her husband Albert J. Shalhoub Predeceased her in September 2001.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in Yoland Shalhoub’s memory be made to the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America, 386 Park Avenue South, 17th Floor, NY, NY 10016.
